York County government website back online after being “compromised”

YORK COUNTY, Pa.–Folks looking to access York County’s government website were unable to do so for about an hour on Friday afternoon.

The county tweeted that their website was taken down after it was compromised shortly after 1 p.m.

The website went back online shortly after 2 p.m.

A hackers’ collective known as Anonymous is claiming responsibility for the website being compromised, according to a tweet by the group.
