One man dead after crashing into building in York County

HANOVER, Pa.- The Hanover Police Department is investigating a fatal one car accident that happened Saturday afternoon.

According to a news release, the accident happened at the intersection of East Middle and York Streets, shortly after 3:00 p.m.

A 72-year-old Hanover man was driving his 2004 Mazda RX8, when for unknown reasons, he left the roadway and struck a building owned by Gobrecht Real Estate LLC, police said.

The man was transported to Hanover Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police are not currently releasing the identity of the driver until family has been notified.
