Dallastown, P.A. - Officials from the Small Business Administration gathered at Wyndridge Farm in York County today to tell people they should buy local when going Valentine's Day shopping. The event is to encourage people to "Be Sweet on Small Business" this holiday.

S.B.A. of Eastern Pennsylvania Director Tony Leta said buying gifts and cards close to home helps small businesses in the community, and ensures buyers are giving a unique gift to loved ones. He said the event today at Wyndridge Farm was important to promote these small businesses.

"Folks buy flowers, go to dinner, buy gifts for their loved ones on Valentine's Day, so we thought it was an opportunity to showcase small businesses and have people think about shopping locally for those valentine's day gifts," said Leta.

Shopping at small businesses can also help those owners create more jobs and strengthen the United States economy.
