Another round of winter weather is making its way through Central Pennsylvania which could make for a messy morning commute Tuesday.

PennDOT officials say they’re facing several challenges when it comes to treating the roads because the storm started Monday evening with rain.

They say the moisture on the roads makes the salt and other treatment options less effective.

That means crews will now have to use pure salt to treat the main roads and then use a mixture on the secondary roads to create traction for drivers.

PennDOT officials say at this time, their main concern is keeping the interstates and divided highways clear, as well as the on and off ramps.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow in Adams, York, and Lancaster Counties.

That warning is in effect from midnight Monday to 1 a.m. Wednesday.
