BETHLEHEM, Pa.A Lehigh University student tested positive for the Zika virus, according to an announcement posted Wednesday on the university’s webpage.

The school says the unidentified student traveled abroad during the winter break. The student has recovered and is feeling well, John Smeath, vice-provost of student affairs said in the statement.

The Lehigh University Health and Wellness Center has been in direct contact with state health officials, who indicate that there is no additional health risk to anyone on campus, Smeath said.

There are now 66 cases of Zika virus in the United States, including two women in Pennsylvania.

Mosquitoes typically spread the virus, but it can also be transmitted through unprotected sex, blood transfusions or, in rare cases, from mother to child during the birth process.
