An organization in our area is on a mission to make prom special for teens across Central PA.

The Northern Dauphin Human Services Center is offering free prom gowns, shoes and accessories to high school girls who cannot otherwise afford them.

It’s all part of their 8th Annual ‘Project Prom Wear.’

From now until the first week of May, teens can choose from dozens of gowns in a variety of sizes and styles.

Organizers say the program rests completely on the generosity of people in the community who donate items year round.

Teens who are interested in finding a gown can visit the center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays or call the center to schedule an appointment.

The Northern Dauphin Human Services Center is located at 295 State Dr. in Elizabethville.

For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 717-905-2700.
