SPRING GARDEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Bowlers hit the lanes in York County on Sunday with a bit of a different perspective.
Kids donned special glasses to simulate eye conditions during a memorial Bowl-A-Thon at Suburban Bowlerama in Spring Garden Township. The event benefits the York Forsight Vision Center which allowed players to see what it's like to bowl with impairments such as cataracts and glaucoma.
"We have some glasses that simulate various eye conditions [including] macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy," Forsight Vision President Bill Rhinesmith said. "So, if you've got a lot of kids here today, we'll let the kids wear them to give them some sense of what it would be like to have an eye condition."
This is the 26th year the for this event which is hosted by the Eastgate Sunrise Lions Club.
