It’s a topic many of us don’t like to think or talk about, but as the aging population grows, millions of families are facing the responsibility of caring for an aging parent.

In honor of National Senior Independence Month, we’re exploring the story of one local woman who is caring for her mother, who’s suffering from Alzheimer’s.

Mercedes Weekes told Fox43 more about serving as a caregiver, and Dr. Barry Wentland from Senior Life York also spoke about the topic.
