HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania’s highest court has affirmed the removal from office of Lancaster City District Justice Kelly Ballentine.

Last August the state Court of Judicial Discipline voted 5 – 3 vote to remove Ballentine from the bench. Ballentine had served as Judge for Magisterial District 02-2-01 of the Second Judicial District covering the 3rd and 7th wards of Lancaster City since January 6, 2006. She was elected for a second term.

The Judicial Discipline recommended Ballentine be removed for violating the Pennsylvania Rules for Professional Conduct after she admitted to dismissing her own traffic tickets and failed to file tax returns.  She served a one year suspension with pay while her case was being reviewed.
