FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. – Four people were sent to the hospital, including two pedestrians in a two vehicle crash in Franklin County. It happened shortly after 4 pm Monday along the 3300 block of the Lincoln Highway( Route 30) at the intersection of Crider Avenue in Fayetteville.

Pennsylvania State Police say a westbound 2009 Nissan Altima driven by Hope Lewis, 67, was attempting to make a left turn from the center lane onto Crider Avenue, when she was struck by an eastbound 1996 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by 46 year old Denis Rohrbaugh, Jr.

After the initial impact, Lewis’ car spun around and struck Matthew Showalter, 29 and Franklin Gingrich, 53, who were walking eastbound on the road shoulder.

Rohrbaugh, who was not wearing his seatbelt, suffered major injuries and was flown to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Showalter and Gingrich also suffered major injuries and were flown to the York Trauma Center. Lewis was transported by ambulance to Chambersburg Hospital.

Both vehicles in the crash had to be towed from the scene. The 3300 block of the Lincoln Highway was closed for hours while the crash was being investigated.
