Restaurant Week in York begins with a spotlight on The Copper Crust Company

YORK, Pa.-- Restaurant Week York is back in York City for the week of February 20 through 27. There are 31 downtown restaurants participating, and have fixed their menu prices in celebration of the week.
Today, we kick off the week with Chefs Nicole and Sean Austin from The Copper Crust Company in downtown York, located inside Central Market.
They will be visiting our morning show today, and are cooking three of their benedicts.

The Copper Crust Company has a house cured and smoked Salmon benedict, a Prime Rib benedict that is seasoned and seared to order, and a Rapini benedict which has broccoli raab and goat cheese.

The chefs will also have their Hand Pies, with Chef Nicole making a sour cherry and apple hand pie. The team also baked two savory hand pies for today, including the Flynn a Stout braised beef with whiskey caramelized onions and horseradish cream for dipping, and The Jerked Pig, a wet jerk rubbed and roasted, tomatillo braised pork shoulder, with a spiced cilantro avocado sauce for dipping.

On top of the dishes the Chefs will prepare on our show, the Copper Crust Company is taking part in the celebration of restaurant week for the first time and are having specials on their menu. The deals begin at $5 with a pastry with a medium latte or a Coppers Egg and Cheese with house smoked bacon, ham or sausage.

For $10, Copper Crust is offering a classic French toast thick cut with a custard center served with real maple syrup, a lemon curd French toast thick cut with a custard center and real maple syrup, or a Salmon Platter house lox, 2 pan poached eggs atop a cheddar biscuit that is garnished with avocado sauce and capers.

The final deal is a $15 sampler in which you may choose 3 benedicts: either the Rapini, Blackened Prime Rib, House Cured Salmon, House Cured Ham, Broccoli Raab or Savory Sausage.
