Many would think that a man would regret changing his name after a sandwich.

Yet, shockingly enough, one man has embraced this title, and it doesn’t seem to bother him at all.

A British man decided to legally change his name to Bacon Double Cheeseburger, in a way to show of his love for the sandwich, according to Fox News.

Sam Smith, 33, told the U.K.’s Standard that the, “Bacon Double Cheeseburger was pretty much the first thing that came up,” after a night of drinking with his friends who convinced him to do go ahead with the stunt.

I’ve got no regrets at all,” he said.

“It was the culmination of probably too many drinks in the pub where there was a conversation about names,” Smith said.

Even after he sobered up, he still embraced his new identity.

“I’ve got no regrets at all,” he said.

Obviously, the people close to Smith had an opinion on his name change, including his parents and fiancée.

“My mum was furious but my dad thinks it’s hilarious. He’s more than happy to use my new name.”

Apparently, Smith’s fiancée is not too thrilled either.

“She is fairly reluctant about marrying a Cheeseburger. That’s something we’re discussing a lot. No girl ever dreams of spending her big day marrying a man called Bacon.”

The name could have unforeseen benefits for Smith. Previously, there was a pair named the Burger and King, and they were a couple who got married.  Fast food giant Burger King paid for their wedding.

For now, Smith is proudly signing off his work emails as “B D Cheeseburger.”
