STRASBURG, Pa. - Lancaster County's first mud sale of the year was held on Saturday. The Strasburg Fire Company hosted the annual auction which features a variety of items including quilts, crafts, antiques, Amish furniture, and farm equipment.

Organizers say the local Amish play a big part in the event.

"This time of year we have a lot of Amish who help us," Strasburg Fire Company Deputy Chief, Rick Wentz said. "This is kind of their down time, so it kind of works out in that regard they will be able to help do it, and it's just a time to get everyone started for spring."

Money raised at the auction will help support local charities and volunteer fire companies.
