EAST COCALICO, TWP, Pa-  A Lancaster County jury convicted a trucker for being drunk behind the wheel of a loaded trailer last year.

On Tuesday, Max Lee Bawell was found guilty of four counts of DUI – his third DUI conviction since 2004. Two of those convictions are for DUI while operating a commercial vehicle.

Bawell will have his sentencing on March 9th. Bawell faces at least 3 months in prison.

The jury took just under an hour to decide the case Tuesday afternoon.

East Cocalico police came upon Bawell’s running rig, parked illegally, on Colonel Howard Boulevard, near Route 222 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Bawell had an open Yuengling Lager beer, in a koozie, in the cab.

Police said he failed field sobriety tests. A blood draw revealed a blood-alcohol content of .195 percent, more than twice Pennsylvania’s legal limit for drivers
