BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- An Illinois woman who took thousands of dollars in donations, free food and other donations after lying about having terminal ovarian cancer was sentenced on fraud charges Tuesday, according to

Alissa Jackson, 32, was sentenced to three years in prison.  Jackson raised the money online and did fundraisers around the community.

After some people became suspicious about her story, the Belleville police were contacted, and Jackson was charged with fraud in 2014.
