Low pressure tracks through the Tennessee Valley tonight and off the coast of North Carolina by morning. The northern fringe of the precipitation will make it into our area. Light on and off snow showers will arrive later tonight and bring a light accumulation by morning.

Models are only picking up on a coating to 1” at most. Lows will drop the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. Clouds will slowly break as high pressure re-establishes over the area. Highs warm to around 40 degrees. Another clipper comes in late Saturday. It will bring a few light snow showers in the evening and overnight period. Highs Saturday climb to the lower 40s. Once the early clouds break up, sunshine breaks out for the second half of the weekend, but with a northerly breeze, temperatures are held in the lower 40s.

Weekend Outlook

Only a few more days of winter like weather before we get the shorts out! Monday starts a streak of above average days. A southerly breeze sets up around an area of high pressure just to our east, spreading in much warmer air for a few days. 50’s Monday, and under plenty of sunshine, by Tuesday and Wednesday, we are feeling more like April, with highs in the 60s, and a few spots even touching 70 degrees.
