LANCASTER, Pa.–A Lancaster man was arrested Friday after police said he fled from a traffic stop, leading officers on a foot chase.

Robert Lee Burks, 21, is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, receiving stolen property and a possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Police were conducting a traffic stop along the 400 block of South Duke Street when the passenger of the vehicle, later identified as Burks, took off on foot.

During the chase, investigators say Burks discarded a semi-automatic handgun.

Burks was later found hiding under a vehicle along Atlantic Avenue. Police say the gun he tossed had been reported stolen from a vehicle.

The 24-year-old driver was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving during suspension and a stop sign violation.
