YORK COUNTY, Pa. – Northern York County Regional Police credit Naloxone with saving a man’s life on Monday.

Police responded at about 1:41 pm to a reported Heroin overdose at the Super 8 Motel in Manchester Township. They found a 22 year old York City man unconscious with agonal (slow) breathing.  The Officer administered two doses of Naloxone to the victim. By the time EMS arrived the male had regained consciousness and was able to walk to the ambulance. He was transported to Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

It was the 31st time that Northern York County Regional Police Officers have administered Naloxone. Northern York County Regional Police Officers began carrying Naloxone on March 30, 2015.

The York County Naloxone program is sponsored by the York County District Attorney’s Office.
