SILVER SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa.–Authorities are investigating a police-involved crash in Cumberland County on Tuesday morning.

The three-vehicle crash happened along Route 114 and Shadow Oak Drive in Silver Spring Township around 8:30 a.m. Authorities say Officer Matthew Haflett was responding to a call when his police SUV was struck by a vehicle crossing the intersection. Officer Haflett’s SUV then collided with a third vehicle.

Officer Hafflet was taken to Harrisburg Hospital to be checked out and has since been released, police said. One driver refused medical treatment and suffered small cuts to his hands, the other driver was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital.

Officer Haflett has been with the Silver Spring Township Police Department for 3 1/2 years and was with the Harrisburg City Police Department before that.

Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation.
