LOTS OF CLOUDS AND MILDER
A few showers will sweep through overnight into the morning drive time. Foggy spots and pockets of drizzle will start the day. Morning lows will start in the lower 40s.
With a shift in the wind direction from east to northwest, drier air spills in. Skies will brighten up a little, as sunshine tries to poke through the clouds, which remain stubborn for most of the day. It’s a bit milder in the middle to upper 50s. Our next frontal system approaches Wednesday and brings a threat for a few afternoon showers. However, temperatures will be warmer in the upper 60s. While still mild, temperatures fall back to the mid and upper 50s Thursday. If you are planning on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, there is a threat for a few showers, but most of the day remains dry.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
A weak system pushes through keeping a fair amount of clouds around. Upper level trough deepens across the northeast, leading to cooler temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. High pressure building in clears skies for the start of the weekend. Plenty of sunshine Saturday and high temperatures climb to near 50, after a chilly morning in the lower 30s. The first day of spring brings a complicated forecast. Low pressure will track up the coast Sunday. The upper levels will be cold enough for snow. During the day, with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s, rain is likely during the day. However, overnight Saturday and overnight Monday, any moisture that falls, could fall in the form of sleet or snow. The system pulls away early Monday, allowing for drier air to work in to break up the clouds. Highs will run below average in the middle 40s.
