Weis Markets opens beer cafe in Mechanicsburg

MECHANICSBURG, Pa.  Weis Markets can now sell beer at its Mechanicsburg store. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board gave final approval Tuesday for the grocery chain to open a beer café at 5140 Simpson Ferry Road.

The 30-seat beer café will sell beer for both on in store consumption and take-out. It offers 928 varieties, including an extensive collection of local craft beers, including beers brewed by Troeg’s Brewing Company, Appalachian Brewing Company, Stoudt’s, Victory, Lancaster Brewing and Liquid Hero.

The café is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

This is the first Weis Markets beer café to open in the Harrisburg area. The company currently operates beer cafés in 40 of its Pennsylvania stores.
