Two alarm fire destroys York County home

YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A two alarm fire destroys a home in Paradise Township, York County.  The fire broke out at about 4:03 pm in the 800 block of Maple Grove Road. The first firefighters on the scene reported smoke and flames pouring from the home.

The owner tells FOX43 that he was burning garbage behind his home when the fire got out of control and spread to the house.

Firefighters needed water tankers and more manpower with a second alarm to battle the blaze because of the home’s rural location. It took about 90 minutes before  the fire was declared under control.

Damage to the home is estimated $250,000. There were no reported injuries.
