HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. - Hundreds of motorcycle riders across our area grabbed stuffed rabbits and took them for a spin on their bikes. It's part of the 12th annual Bunny Run held at the Hummelstown Fire Department. That's where riders began their route to deliver donated bunnies to children who are in the hospital during the Easter holiday.
"A lot of times children are forgotten about," event coordinator Rich Fanning said, "a lot kids want to be out there playing and doing Easter egg hunts and eating chocolate. [And] here they are, they have to be in the hospital. We want to bring a smile to their faces."
New stuffed bunnies were delivered from the Chambersburg area, all the way to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, including stops along that route.
