Woman accused of skipping out on $600 cab ride from New York to Lancaster County

DENVER BOROUGH, Pa.–A Lancaster County woman is accused of skipping out on her $600 cab fare after she took a taxi from New York City to her home in Denver Borough on Sunday morning, according to police reports.

The cab driver dropped 44-year-old Kelly Boyer off at her home along the 100 block of Hawthorne Drive around 1 a.m.

Boyer told the driver she would be back in a few minutes to pay the $600 fare, investigators said. Only Boyer decided she wasn’t going to pay her fare!

The driver waited for about 15 minutes and then called police.

Officers responded to Boyer’s home and tried numerous times to contact her–but they say she refused to answer the door or pickup her phone.

East Cocalico Township Police say theft of service charges will be filed against Boyer through Magisterial District Magistrate Nancy Hamill’s office.
