YORK, Pa. -- The Rotary Club of York held its annual cleanup event at the baseball fields at Allen Park.

The rotarians and other volunteers gathered to get the fields and concession stands ready for opening day of the York City Little League.

More than 200 kids will play ball this summer.

"This is a very important project for the kids in the city, that they have a place where they can grow, play together, and learn teamwork," says Rotary Club president Marsha Bornt.

"I enjoy being a part of it and seeing the kids have fun and giving them something positive and an opportunity to learn some life lessons by playing the game of baseball," says York City Little League president Michael Smith.

Opening day is April 9.
