HARRISBURG, Pa.  - Harrisburg community leaders are calling for an end to the violence in the city. With the growing number of violent crimes, eight organizations met at the Harrisburg Friends Meeting for a workshop on conflict management.

"Over the past couple of years there's been a lot of gun violence here in Harrisburg," meetinghouse clerk Laura Ford said, "and so that's one of things that we're working on is that there is an alternative to violence."

Topics also focused on how making peace with oneself can improve physical and metal wellness. The workshop is part of a series lead by Dr. John Reuwer who has taught alternatives to violence for 30 years.
