YORK, Pa. – A power failure has forced the Crispus Attucks Early Learning Center in York to relocate temporarily on Tuesday.

An electrical fire in a transformer outside of the CAELC caused the center to close early Monday morning. In a late afternoon news release Crispus Attucks officials said that Met-Ed plans to replace the transformer overnight.

They also said that the Early Learning Center will care for children on Tuesday at the Crispus Attucks Community Center’s lower level community room, located at 605 S. Duke Street.  They suggested that guardians find other childcare for infants until ELC returns to its building and can safely care for children again.  If other childcare cannot be found parents and guardians are asked to call (717) 434-5365.  All other services will continue as planned.
