SOUTH LEBANON TWP, Pa- Cornwall Borough police say a South Lebanon Township woman is accused of using her employers credit card to pay for personal items amounting over $30K.

Mary Ruth Myers, 39, of the 200 block of Acorn Circle, was charged Tuesday for thefts while working as a personal assistant for Lynee Porter, who owned and operated the Cornwall Inn located at  50 Burd Coleman Road, police said.

According to police, while Myers worked for Porter in 2013-2014, she used Porter’s debit card and business accounts for the purchase of a 2008 GMC Acadia for $24,318.86, Verizon Wireless services of $3686.19, DirecTV services of $791.68 and money orders totaling $1502.97.

Myers is charged with theft by deception, identity theft and nine counts of access device fraud. The identity theft charge is a misdemeanor, while the other charges are felonies.

Police began investigating into Myers in October 2014 when Porter discovered discrepancies and unauthorized charges on her accounts.

Myers was released on $10,000 unsecured bail after arraignment Tuesday at Central Booking.
