SHREWSBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A Shrewsbury Township Walmart reopened this morning less than 48 hours after a state police officer shot a robbery suspect.

State Police say Thomas Markowski tried shooting the Walmart in a motorized wheelchair and demanded four boxes of the painkiller Fentanyl. When police arrived, they say Markowski tried shooting the trooper but missed. The trooper fired back– hitting the suspect in the chest.

The 57 year-old is charged with first degree attempted murder.
