YORK, Pa. - One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting Sunday evening.

Wayne Allen Weedon Jr., 25, was pronounced dead Sunday night at York Hospital, while two others were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to York police Lt. Troy Bankert.

The shooting happened after 7 p.m. Sunday near the 600 block of east Maple Street, in Girard Park. The victims were playing basketball.

"Someone got revenge or they got into an argument. I don't know what all the details were at but it was very scary especially in a residential area with all the children that's in this area and then, a city park like this! We don't need to have this definitely not," said George H. Anthony who lives near the park.

York City Police said they will release further details either overnight or Monday morning.
