PHILADELPHIA, Pa.– The founder of the Philadelphia Flyers has died after battling bladder cancer for the past few years, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Snider, 83, was known by many as a diehard Flyers fan, despite owning and operating the team.
The news was confirmed by the team this morning through a statement from his children.
In the past week, the Flyers capped a late season surge by wrapping up a playoff berth, and are set to face the top-seeded Washington Capitals in a series that begins later this week.
