YORK TOWNSHIP, Pa.--Police continue their search for an armed man that was spotted in York Township.

A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter has been circling the area between Cape Horn Road and Camp Betty Washington Road searching for 20-year-old Austin M. Craley.

Craley failed to appear for his scheduled court hearing on Wednesday on charges of statutory sexual assault, indecent assault on a person less than 16 years of age and corruption of minors.  The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred in July of 2015. Craley was arraigned on those charges on November 24, 2015.

Investigators at the scene tell FOX43 news they later intercepted texts between Craley and a 14-year-old girl, who he is accused of sexually assaulting, in which he stated he was coming to get her.

Mike Hansen, the owner of Central Booking Bail Bonds, said , "He was texting her he was on his way to get her. That he had a plan."

Craley then attempted to carry out that plan and went to his father's home last night and stole three guns.

Hansen said, "He broke into his father's house last night, stole three handguns, and at 6 around 6:10 this morning he showed up at the victim's house and attempted to make entry."

Craley was armed with a gun, investigators said. Fugitive agents did not know if he was going to the house to harm the mother or the victim.

Ian Ashenfelder, a fugitive recovery agent for the No Chance Fugitive Recovery unit, said, "He didn't know that the stepfather was there and he peaked his head through the window and he pointed the gun at the stepfather and took off."

He was last seen running on foot towards the Waterford Apartment Complex in York Township.

Police have been searching the area for him ever since and say Craley should be considered armed and dangerous.

"He has three handguns and a box of bullets. And he's desperate," Hansen said.

Anyone with information on Craley's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
