YORK, Pa. - Calls for change are being made in the wake of a violent week in York. The Stop the Violence group organized an Anti-violence rally on Saturday.  With signs in hand, they walked through their neighborhoods with a mission. They say they want to see an end to the violence.

"We're trying to get our community members involved, letting these people know that we're not gonna tolerate this violence in our city and we really want it to stop," group member Lettice Brown said.

The rally comes nearly a week after a deadly shooting at Girard Park claimed the life of 25 year-old Wayne Weedon Jr.

"There was a total of six shootings that I could count that I heard," Kadeem Calhoun said, "It doesn't just affect me, it affects you. It affects everybody in the world."

Members of the group hope to inspire change and to take back their streets  to keep another family from grieving.

"There's a lot of people that I know that are losing their children to the street," Stop the Violence group member Tonya Larry said, "It just has to stop. We're out here to march and let the city know that there is people out here that want to stop the violence and do something about it."
