Shippensburg grad is top US finisher at Boston Marathon

BOSTON, MA — The top US finisher at the Boston Marathon is a Shippensburg woman. Neely Spence Gracey finished 9th with a time of 2:34:59. The race was her marathon debut and it came just two days after her birthday.

Gracey won 8 Division II National Championships at Shippensburg University.

Her father is Steve Spence, who won the bronze medal at the 1991 World Championships in marathon.
