Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf announced today that SalonCentric, Inc., a nationwide provider of wholesale cosmetic and beauty products for licensed beauticians, will expand operations at its existing facility in East Manchester Township, York County, a move that will create 45 new jobs over the next three years.

“SalonCentric has proven to be a strong partner and employer in the York region and once again they are growing and hiring even more Pennsylvania residents,” Governor Wolf said. “I am pleased that we can be a part of a project that promises such positive impacts.”

SalonCentric will expand operations at Steamboat Blvd, East Manchester Township, York County, where the company is currently located. The company has committed to investing $5.8 million in the project, which will include the purchase of equipment and building modifications. SalonCentric has committed to the creation of 45 new, full-time jobs over the next three years, and the retention of 140 existing employees statewide.

SalonCentric received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development that includes a $100,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, $90,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs, and $20,250 in WEDnetPA funding for employee training.

The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.

“SalonCentric has enjoyed working in Pennsylvania and is committed to strengthening our partnership with the state through the expansion of our East Manchester Distribution Center,” said Mike Schewene, vice president of supply chain for SalonCentric.

SalonCentric is owned by L’Oreal USA, Inc., and is one of the largest wholesale salon and beauty supply distributors for licensed cosmetologists in the United States. SalonCentric operates in 48 states, with more than 550 SalonCentric stores, six distribution centers and more than 630 field sales representatives. In total, SalonCentric employs more than 3,900 nationwide.
