Man in video taped dog beating incident pleads guilty

YORK COUNTY, Pa. – The man videotaped as he punched, dragged and whipped a dog in the backyard of a York City home on East South Street last year, plead guilty to animal cruelty in York County Court.

Luis J. Cruz-Padro, 28, was videotaped by a neighbor last December.  The video was posted on Facebook and quickly went viral.

The dog, Bugz, along with a Pit bull puppy were taken from the home and cared for by the York County SPCA.

Bugz and the puppy have since been adopted out to new homes.

Formal sentencing is scheduled for the end of May.
