Crash involving overturned car closes 3600 block of Derry Street

PAXTANG, Pa. – A crash involving an overturned vehicle closed a portion of Derry Street in Paxtang Borough just outside of Harrisburg. The accident happened just before 10 o’clock in the 3600 block of Derry Street near Wilhelm Road.

Witnesses  a car sideswiped 8 vehicles before the driver lost control and overturned.  The driver became entrapped partially beneath the vehicle.  He was freed after about 45 minutes by rescue crews.

The unidentified driver, who was the only one in the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, no word on his condition.

The 3600 block of Derry Street was closed to traffic for over an hour. Swatara Township Police are investigating.
