Cumberland County woman celebrates 101st birthday, shares simple secret to long life

MECHANICSBURG, Pa.--A Cumberland County woman is celebrating a very special birthday. Jessie Madura turned 101 years-old at the Bridges at Bent Creek Senior Living Community in Mechanicsburg.

The facility threw a birthday party in her honor. During the celebration, the guest of honor shared her simple secret to living a long life.

"I've worked hard all my life and the day that I retired, I quit working. Period," says Madura.

Madura is still very active. She enjoys sewing and makes clown dolls which she sells to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.
