BALTIMORE, Md.– Hundreds of people gathered in Baltimore on Sunday to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Freddie Gray.
The rally began at Mondawmin Mall, the site where riots sparked a day of unrest after Gray died while in police custody on April 24, 2015.
Marchers chanted things like “One Baltimore, One Vision” and say they wanted to keep the event peaceful.
“Out here today to remember the uprising of a year ago and the way in which people have still been struggling and to show solidarity and peace,” said rally attendee Rev. Ada Marie Williams.
Six Baltimore police officers are awaiting trial in connection to Gray’s arrest and death.
