Sports Authority may close all stores; liquidate assets
ENGLEWOOD, Co. – It might be game over for Sports Authority. The sporting goods retailer is considering closing all 463 of its stores across the country.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March.
Sports Authority is carrying just over a billion dollars in debt.
It notified the U.S. Bankruptcy Court that it might not be able reorganize, and will most likely pursue a sale of its assets instead.
