Lancaster County man arrested for beating child with belt

MANOR TWP., Lancaster County, Pa. — A Lancaster County man is arrested for beating a child with a belt. Earl Byron, 47, is charged with Simple Assault after police say he beat an 8 year-old boy with a belt multiple times on his legs because he got into trouble at school. Police were called to Stonemill Station Apartments around 7:30pm for a report of a child being beaten and screaming for help. Byron was babysitting the child when the incident occurred. He was arraigned and released on $5,000 bail.
