HARRISBURG, Pa. – Harrisburg City Police are on the lookout for the suspect who robbed a woman at gunpoint in a church parking lot over the weekend.

Police responded to a report of a robbery at about 1:03 p.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of Derry Street. The victim told officers that she had been waiting to meet her parents in the church parking lot when she was robbed at gunpoint.

The victim had parked her van in the parking lot of the Derry Street United Methodist Church at 15th and Derry streets. She said that she needed to meet her parents to retrieve some paperwork and they chose the church parking lot as the meet up location.

After she opened her van door, a stranger grabbed her leg and pointed a silver handgun at her and demanded that she give up everything.

The woman handed over her wallet, which contained credit cards and $10 in cash. The suspect then ran away.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Dauphin County Police dispatch at (717) 558-6900 and ask for a City Detective.
