Orrtanna, Pa. - Destination Gettysburg hosted its "Power of Tourism Luncheon" in Adams County to talk about a new marketing initiative. The tourism group will be creating videos featuring people in Adams County to draw more people to the area. One of the videos features a farms who sells meat directly to people in Adams County. One officials says he wants to see more people visit the countryside in Gettysburg.
"We know they come here for Civil War history, and we know they go to the battlefield and tour the museums," said Carl Whitehill, Director of Communication at Destination Gettysburg. "But what we want to do is get them out to our countryside. So, this is our new project in which we're telling the stories of people, the places and the experiences in Adams County."
