YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A York County man is accused of stealing over $13,000 worth of construction and maintenance tools from his employer.

Officials at the Maple Press Company, 480 Willow Springs Lane, reported the suspected theft to Northern York County Regional Police.  They said that employees arriving to work on Monday discovered the material and tools were missing.

The tools had bee secured in a locked and gated area within the building. Interior and exterior inspection of the building showed no signs of forced entry. There were no pried doors, broken glass or cut locks.

Maple Press executives provided the police with a list of people who would have keys to access the area where the tools were located.

Police eventually identified the thief as an employee named Jason Allen.  Allen was arrested and arraigned on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property.

Following arraignment he sent to York County Prison in lieu of $20,000.00 bail.

Most of the stolen equipment has been returned to the Maple Press Company.  Police are still attempting to locate several of the stolen items.
