SOAKING RAIN TO END THE WEEK
Upper-level low to our south, combined with a surface low, brings a steady, healthy rainfall for Friday. It arrives late morning and stays for the rest of the day. Highs will only climb to the middle 50s. Rain amounts between 0.50” to .75”+ possible for many!
The dreary weather continues into the beginning of the weekend. Lows will drop to the upper 40s. Our winds shift during the day to the west-southwest. This allows milder, drier air to invade the area. Some glimpse of the sunshine late in the day is likely, but a better day is ahead Sunday, as a cold front pushes through overnight bringing changes to our weather, in time for Mother’s Day! A few showers possible overnight but they exit by morning leaving a nice day for the second half of the weekend.
MOTHER’S DAY TREAT
Finally, the bright, yellow disk in the sky will shine. We’ll still have clouds mixing in and out. With the sunshine, high temperatures may touch 70 degrees, but most areas will see upper 60s.
NEXT WEEK
We begin the week with sunshine and warmer temperatures as high pressure builds in for the day. Highs are expected to be warmer in the lower 70s. A milder day greets us Tuesday with highs soaring to the middle 70s. A warm front pushes through overnight into Wednesday bringing a return of showers and possible thunderstorms. We still expect highs in the 70s. The cold front crosses the area by early Thursday bringing another round of showers, followed by more seasonable air.
