Tonight on FOX43 News at 10, meet York’s Polar Bears hockey team. Ranging in age from 5 to 17, the team is comprised of children with various mental and physical disabilities.
The idea was put together by Coach Rich Garrison to let these children prove that they can do anything. The team of almost a dozen kids is funded by donations and assisted by hockey-playing volunteers.
These kids have to face a world that often excludes them, and “playing hockey” might not sound like an option to many with disabilities, but here on the ice everybody is welcome. Learn more about these inspiring kids tonight on FOX43 News at 10.
