UPDATE: Motorcyclist identified after crash in York County

31-year-old Jason Gilbert of Gettysburg,  was killed Saturday morning after he slammed into a tree.

The accident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. Saturday in the area of Blooming Grove Road and Anthony Avenue.

According to police, Gilbert was traveling at an excessive speed before crashing into the tree.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Penn Township police are investigating.
