Straban Township, Pa. - Officials from the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association are saying they don't want anything built on the Gettysburg battlefield. There are plans for a developer to build a commercial development project on the land. It would be built on the land directly involved in the Battle of Gettysburg. The president of the association says she hopes the developer puts a stop to this plan.

"We hope that they take do diligence and consider the drastic outcome that this could have on our historical heritage here that we want to pass on to our future generations," said Barbara Mowery, president of the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association.

The association is also announcing it will start a national campaign to save the property.
