YORK, Pa- Police say a Facebook post helped capture a hit-and-run driver who struck a construction zone worker Wednesday afternoon.

York Area Regional Police say the suspect who struck the flag person on Wednesday along Cape Horn Road and drove away from the scene later posted damage of the vehicle to Facebook.

Officers found out about the post and based on the information known about the case, they were able to follow up with the suspect. Police “obtained a written statement placing them at the scene of the hit-and-run.”

The vehicle that struck the worker was also found with damage consistent to statements made by the hit and run victim and witnesses at the scene, police said.
