East Lampeter Township, Pa. - Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services, along with police officers from several departments, gathered at the East Lampeter Township Police Department in Lancaster County to pray at the flagpole on the grounds.

Those who gathered prayed for peace, safety and unity among all police officers. The event was in honor of National Police Week.

"It's an opportunity for both the police and the community to come together and interact," said Joe Miller, Volunteer Chaplin or East Lampeter Police. "One of the goals that I think I have as Chaplin is to ask the question, how can we have this be as much about community as possible, so it's not an us or them kind of thing?"

All the police officers at the gathering were invited to breakfast at the C.V.C.C.S's building in Lancaster after the prayer.
